BMX bikes are 20-inch wheel bikes, although other wheel sizes can be found on race bikes. They feature a rigid frame and fork with tall handlebars and a single gear. Their basic construction makes them strong as well as easy to maintain and understand.
The sport has two main disciplines – Racing and Freestyle. Racing is where it all began as far as BMX is concerned, while Freestyle evolved and branched out into Flatland - Street - Park - Vert and Dirt. As a new breed of riders started specializing in tricks and bike handling the sport has evolved into global urban youth culture.
